ARIZONA BORDER CONTROL

2010 Border Security Survey
John McCain Writes:
One of the fundamental responsibilities of our government is to secure our borders so that our citizens, no matter where they live in our country, can be safe and secure.
Unfortunately, the Obama Administration and Democrats in Congress have not lived up to the federal government's constitutional responsibility to secure our borders. So my Arizona colleague, Senator Jon Kyl and I introduced a 10-Point Border Security Plan to secure our border with Mexico against illegal immigration, human smuggling, drug trafficking and the brutal violence associated with the drug cartels.
I believe we must take action because the fact is clear that our border is not secure and nearly half of all illegal immigrants enter through the Arizona/Mexico corridor. As I told Sean Hannity on his show, our southern border is broken in Arizona and action is needed. Our federal government has not devoted the resources necessary to secure the border and the result has been escalating violence and increased numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.
The President says he wants to address the issue, but so far he has not taken action. He has not devoted the resources necessary to secure our border, so we are calling for real action and resources as outlined in our 10-Point Plan.
Border security is key to keeping our homeland safe. We have seen the violence from drug cartels and drug smugglers skyrocket. It is only a matter of time before even more violence pours over our border into the United States. I believe the key to securing our borders is providing the necessary federal resources to do so effectively and efficiently.

For those unfamiliar, Jambalaya is a Louisiana creole dish. Essentially, the name means, 'everything,'..henceforth, it might contain sausage, rice, chicken, shrimp, alligator, ham, some of these, or all of these plus more, and in varying quantities...depending upon the pantry's contents for that day. Regardless of the ingredients, it yields a tangy, yet tasty, dish. Too bad our incumbent administration's Jambalaya of policies isn't as easy to swallow.
Many have faulted me for dwelling upon the firewall immigration bill Arizona has implemented, and the repercussions it's having to face. However, I believe it contains all the ingredients for a 'teachable moment' for myself, as well as others. Let's look at some of the ingredients in the White House Jambalaya of deception....
Arizona is faced with carnage from foreign invaders.
While Federal laws are on the books to contend with foreign invaders, the Feds continue to uphold, or enforce with only spotty and lackluster performance.
Arizona, virtually copies the Federal statutes making them state law, and enforceable by themselves.
Our President condemns the action.
Our Attorney General, Homeland security Chief, and others, vilify Arizona's efforts, but admittedly, haven't read the bill.
Lamestream media fuels the ignorance of people.
Our President makes joke of Arizona's policy in speech.
People 'take to the streets' in knee-jerk, and sentimental reactionary protest.
Race-baiters fan the flames of discord.
A foreign President addresses our Congress, criticizing Arizona, to a standing ovation.
Our President concurs with the foreign President.
ICE: Immigration Customs Enforcement has declared they'll not deport any foreign invaders detained in Arizona.
Various municipalities throughout our Republic have initiated boycotts of Arizona.
Our President listens to a foreign President, concurring, and hasn't to date, had a one on one discussion with the Governor of Arizona.
All of the above, plus the many nuances not mentioned, serve to unveil the true nature of our administration's direction; and it is NOT in the best interest of our founding documents, nor for "We the People." The total disregard for the welfare of a state's citizenry, appeasing a perceived voter bloc, disallowing the order of law, placing foreign opinion above "We the People" and Arizona's Governor, apologizing for that which has preserved this exceptional Republic, fostering division, remaining mute on reasonable action to protect this Republic, and others that, 'push your button.' These all serve as a perfect 'teachable moment' for us to consider our own ways, and the ways of those in office.
As one can see, just this scenario alone presents the framework for a myriad of situations needing addressing. These are not exclusive to this situation, but they're most glaring to even the untrained observer. Again, possessing logic, fact, and reason, educating others, making OUR voice heard, supporting Arizona, and MOST importantly, voting out the lock-stepping minions that stir this pot of Jambalaya deception....
To those in Arizona, you're not alone!
